The Christmas of 1990 found a large number of friends and associates wondering where the "magic" had gone and how to avoid the commercialism and pressure of the holidays, while teaching our children the true meaning of the Christmas spirit.

We found several unfortunate families that year who needed a hand-up, so we helped out. Their requests were small, but their needs were great. Our appeals for assistance were from the heart and everyone who was asked came through with gifts, money, food, tears, toys, singing and generosity unsurpassed!

And...it has continued with each Christmas since, helping the overwhelmed, the ill, the sad, the lonely and those far less fortunate than those of us - who have our families, our careers, our happy children and food on our tables. We truly enjoy the privilege of doing so. We found the "magic" of Christmas again, and together with God's help, became Share The Cheer Foundation.

• 1990 Informal group of friends assisted our first family
• 1991 Decided to continue "adopting" families each Christmas
• 1995 Increased numbers of families each Christmas
• 1997 Became a recognized 501(c)3 public, non-profit charity
• 1998 Held an Annual Bookbag/School Supplies Drive through 2002
• 1999 We trained other civic groups on how to conduct School Supplies Drives
• 2001 STC is awarded "Civic Group Of The Year Award"
• 2002 Began assisting families year-round throughout the entire calendar year
• 2003 Annual Back to School trips with middle schoolers began
• 2005-2007 Assisted approximately 20 families each Christmas Holiday
• 2007 The last year for our large Christmas Bus event delivering to local families
• 2008 Focus given on year-round needs of families struggling due to the recession
• 2009-2015 Year-round assistance continues matching needy families with local clubs, church groups, families and civic groups looking for families to "adopt" for Christmas
• 2016 Transitioning into Private Foundation Status
